The fine print

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Your rituals are yours. This explains exactly what Crimsony collects, why, and how it is kept safe.

Crimsony ("we", "us", the "app") is a personal planning app. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use Crimsony. By creating an account and using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

Crimsony is the data controller for the information described in this policy. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at hello@crimsony.app.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a name you choose. Your password is handled securely by our authentication provider (Google Firebase) and is never visible to us.

Your planner content

Crimsony stores the content you create so it is available across your sessions and devices. This includes your daily schedules, habits, weekly plans, budgets and savings, travel plans, notes, and personal preferences (such as your chosen currency, theme, and voice profile). This content is stored in our secure database (Google Firestore) and is tied to your account.

Calendar information

If you grant calendar permission, Crimsony reads events from your device calendar so they can be displayed inside your planner, and can create or remove events you add through the app.

Your device calendar events are displayed locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to our servers or stored in our database.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Crimsony schedules reminders (such as morning rituals, hydration prompts, and event alerts) locally on your device. Your notification preferences are saved to your account so they persist across devices.

Usage and analytics

We may collect limited, aggregated analytics about how the app is used — such as which features are opened and general performance and error data — to help us improve Crimsony. Where analytics are used, they are not used to identify you personally and are not sold. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

How we use your information

How your information is stored and protected

Your account and planner data are stored using Google Firebase and Firestore. Access is restricted by security rules so that only you, when signed in, can read or write your own data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Our database is hosted in the United Kingdom / Europe region. Depending on your location, your information may be processed in a country different from your own; where this happens, it is done in line with applicable data-protection safeguards.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work — principally Google Firebase (authentication and database) — and only to the extent necessary to provide the service. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Your rights

You have control over your information:

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or CCPA — including the right to request a copy of your data or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact hello@crimsony.app.

Children

Crimsony is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above, and, for significant changes, provide notice within the app where appropriate.
